Robert Hill asked:

Tattoos have been around for thousands of years and are more popular today than at any time in recorded history. They are everywhere. Some studies show that around 35 percent of Americans aged 18-30 have tattoos. To most people tattoos represent a form of self expression and they view them as some sort of statement of their individuality. Most adults also feel sexier with tattoos.

So what exactly is a Tattoo?

A tattoo is a permanent mark, design or pattern made by inserting pigment (ink) into the second layer of the skin. Scientifically – tattooing is micro pigment implantation.

A tattoo is produced by puncturing the skin with special needles dipped in indelible inks. A needle injects ink into the cells of the dermis – the second layer of the skin.

Our skin consists of three layers: the epidermis, dermis and subcutaneous tissues. The outer layer that acts as a protective barrier and contains no blood vessels is called the Epidermis. Below that is a thicker layer called dermis and that is where tattoos go.

Because epidermis is constantly being replenished (we continue to produce and shed the top layer of the skin throughout lifetime), the tattooist pushes ink through the epidermis and leaves it in the dermis. The dermis stays pretty much the same for our entire life and this is why tattoos stay permanent while many other things done to the skin don’t.

A tattoo needle goes approximately 1.5mm (1/16 of a inch) into the skin. A tattooist must make sure that the ink goes in just deep enough to be permanent, but not to deep. The depth varies across the body – it’s deeper on the soles of the feet and thinner in other places like ********.

If tattoo is done too deeply, into the third layer of the skin called subcutaneous layer, it can cause unnecessary pain and bleeding. It can also look blurred even as soon as it’s healed, because you have to look deeper (through more layers of the skin) to see it. If any less than a millimeter, it might leave scratches and simply wear off.

The skill with which the tattoo is properly applied takes years to learn, so it is very important to choose an artist with experience and a portfolio of work that demonstrates quality. There are a lot of wannabes out there, so be careful.

Remember: A tattoo is as good as the artist who does it!

Caffeinated Content – Members-Only Content for WordPress

Imran ali asked:

Body piercing has been around for many years but it has become very popular in the past few years. People used to go for ear piercing or nose piercing but nowadays more of the body parts are being pierced and this trend is very popular especially among teenagers and youngsters. They love to get their body parts pierced and they use different articles of body jewellery to add attraction to their body parts. Today you can find beautiful jewellery pieces for any body part. The most common body piercing includes; ear piercing, nose piercing, tongue piercing, eyebrow piercing, belly button piercing and nostrils piercing.

Expressing yourself through body art and body piercing has become a fashion these days. People love to adorn their body with beautiful and exquisite jewellery. Hair is also an important and visible part of your body and hair plays a vital role in your overall appearance and can make you look beautiful or ugly depending upon the way you carry it. Wearing hair jewellery has been an old fashion and even today people love to wear clips, pony tails, hair band and other articles to add charm to their hair. Hair jewellery like clips also makes your hair neat and tidy. Moms love to adorn their little girls with lovely hair jewellery which makes them more adorable.

Body piercing is not as easy as it looks. It is a very tough thing to get your body pierced; it can be painful as well. People are so crazy about fashion that they don’t care how painful or risky it can be. So for piercing your body, always go to a safe and reliable shop that uses hygienic needles for piercing. Never go to a shop that uses a gun for piercing. Also check that your immunizations are up to date. After piercing you may feel pain, swelling or a slight infection. This is normal but you should take proper care so that it does not get worse.

Nose piercing is very famous among the girls getting married. Asian brides always wear a big nose ring on their weddings. For nose and nostrils mostly rings are used. Rings are usually made up of silver, gold, titanium and other metals. Titanium being hypoallergenic and less costly is the preferred metal for body jewellery. Nose rings of platinum and gold are mostly used with gorgeous stones like diamonds and other gemstones studded in them. The stones used in the rings add beauty to the rings and make them more appealing. Women love to have diamond or zircon nose pins and they look very elegant.

Today’s young generation loves to have belly button piercing and they think that it looks very trendy and cool. The rings used for the belly button are usually made of silver or titanium. Titanium rings are quite reasonably priced and so they are mostly used. Rings can be simple or they can have different designs like you can also add charms of different shapes in the ring. The body jewellery used to decorate different sensitive parts of the body should be of high quality and hypoallergenic in order to avoid any infections.

Create a video blog…instantly.
